Over 100 golfers participated in the annual SW Resources Golf Classic Monday, May 9th at the Parkersburg Country Club.  The rain may have started things off a little soggy at first but players were still able to enjoy golf, food and prizes all the while raising funds to develop and maintain quality vocational programs for individuals with disabilities, helping them to achieve a fuller measure of equality through employment.  A portion of the proceeds also benefit the Glenn Wilson Broadcast Scholarship Fund, to help aspiring young journalists go to college.
Joe Campbell is the Golf Classic Chairperson and Jonelle Merritt is the Co-Chairperson both of Wesbanco.
The event concluded with an Awards Banquet to recognize winners after the final teams finished up.  Prizes were awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams as well as those whose drive landed closest to the hole on the par 3 holes.
A golf-themed mosaic made by an SW Resources client employee was raffled off at the banquet and went to Bob Boone.
In total about $27,000 was raised for the SW Resources and $3,000 for the Glenn Wilson Broadcast Scholarship Fund between the hole sponsors and golfers.  A “Thank You” goes out to all the players and hole sponsors.  As well as a special “Thanks!” to Mickey Welch, Wesbanco, and WTAP for making this another sw golf teamsuccessful Classic
